Cartier Cloche de Cartier
4336
£33,500
Now available, a Cartier Cloche de Cartier reference 4336 in rose gold.
Part of a limited run of just 100 pieces in rose gold, alongside companion editions in yellow gold and platinum, the Cloche formed part of Cartier's highly celebrated Privé collection launched in 2021. In our opinion, the rose gold execution is the most contemporary of the trio. The warmth of the case pairs beautifully with the slate-grey dial and matching rose gold Roman numerals, creating an aesthetic that feels both unmistakably Cartier and surprisingly modern.
The Cloche's history is itself fascinating. First created in 1920, the Cloche (French for "bell") was more than just a wristwatch. Its distinctive shape allows it to be worn on the wrist before effortlessly doubling as a miniature desk clock when placed on its side - a wonderfully ingenious concept that has remained unique to Cartier for over a century.
As demand for Cartier continues to surge, collectors are increasingly looking beyond the Maison's more familiar designs towards rare historical references and limited-production Privé creations such as the Cloche. Beautifully bridging Cartier's rich design heritage with modern watchmaking, it is easy to understand why these remarkable shaped watches have become so sought after.
This particular example is presented in exceptional overall condition, showing only very light signs of wear throughout. It comes fully complete with its entirety of accessories from new, including its numbered Certificate of Origin, presentation box and accompanying literature. A wonderfully complete example of one of Cartier's most fascinating modern creations. The watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide.
