Now available, an exceptionally special F.P.Journe Élégante 48 Titalyt “Riva 2024”, a remarkable piece unique with a story unlike any other Élégante we have encountered.

Created as the winning prize for the 2024 Riva Cup in Monaco, this watch was awarded to mark an occasion rather than offered through the usual channels. Most notably, where a conventional Élégante carries its individual serial number, the caseback of this example is instead engraved “Riva 2024”. A small detail with enormous significance, distinguishing it from the wider production and making it a genuinely singular proposition for a collector.

The specification could hardly be better. The 48mm Titalyt case, with its distinctive dark finish, frames the beautifully contrasting black dial, whilst the vivid turquoise “Riva Blue” rubber strap gives the whole watch an unmistakably Mediterranean character. It is a combination that feels perfectly suited to its origins on the water in Monaco, and one that looks absolutely spectacular in person.

Beyond its appearance, the Élégante remains one of François-Paul Journe’s most ingenious creations. Its electromechanical movement preserves energy by stopping the hands after around 35 minutes of inactivity, before sending them forwards or backwards to the correct time when the watch is picked up again. An extraordinary piece of engineering, and arguably the most sought-after model in the Journe collection today.
