Now available, a beautiful Patek Philippe Aquanaut reference 5066A-001 in stainless steel.

Produced throughout the late 1990s and 2000s before its discontinuation in around 2007, the reference 5066A occupies a particularly sweet spot within the early Aquanaut lineage. Slightly smaller than its sibling the 5065A, its proportions give it what we believe to be the perfect Aquanaut size, wearing beautifully on the wrist with an understated, neo-vintage charm that later generations never quite replicated.

Production of the 5066A ran, as mentioned, until roughly 2007, with the later examples - such as this one - benefiting from Super-LumiNova across the dial and hands, replacing the tritium used on early pieces. The result is a dial that remains crisp and vibrant today, without the ageing often seen on earlier luminous material. This particular example is something of an anomaly. Dated to 2008, it represents one of the very final pieces produced - and the latest we’ve personally encountered - despite the reference having been discontinued circa 2007, around the introduction of the 5167A.

Another charming aspect of the 5066A is the versatility it offers its owner. With 18 different strap colours available from Patek Philippe, the watch can be tailored perfectly to its wearer - from classic black to far more playful options. This example is fitted to a rarely seen mauve strap, which we think pairs exceptionally well with the steel case and gives the watch that slightly more playful, contemporary feel.

In exceptional overall condition, the watch comes complete with its leather folder containing all original booklets, its Certificate of Origin, and a Patek Philippe travel case.
