Now available, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 with a yellow dial - perhaps the most joyful and increasingly elusive configuration of Rolex’s 2020 lacquer dial series.

Launched in 2020 and discontinued after approximately 18 months in production (2020–2022), the yellow 126000 is already one of the shortest-run modern Rolex references in recent years. While the entire coloured dial family caused a stir upon release, it is the yellow that we see the least of - especially in the 36mm case. In our opinion, it is comfortably the rarest and most playful execution of the group.

The vibrant lacquer dials introduced in 2020 were a clear nod to the celebrated Stella Day-Date dials of the 1970s and 1980s - bold, confident, and unapologetically fun. Here, Rolex distilled that spirit into its purest time-only format. No date, no complication - just colour, balance, and proportion done perfectly.

And proportion is everything. The 36mm case is, to us, the sweet spot within the Oyster Perpetual line - equally compelling on male and female wrists, restrained yet expressive, and far more versatile than many give it credit for. It wears with an ease that larger cases simply cannot replicate.

This 2021 example remains unpolished, with its original caseback sticker still intact, and has been worn only a handful of times from new. Importantly, it comes fully complete with the entirety of its original accessories, including its all-important serialised white swing tag - a small but meaningful detail for the modern collector. Short production, bold heritage inspiration, ideal proportions, and a dial that simply makes you smile every time it catches the light.
