At heart, an Aquanaut Chronograph from the brand that is targeted at its ladies audience (hence the “Luce”), however, the reference 7968/300R-001 is so much more than just that. Combining exceptional watchmaking with the highest quality of gem-setting is no easy feat, and Patek Philippe has delivered on both of these qualities with this reference.

Albeit a “Luce”, the reference’s rose gold case is 39.9mm in diameter, so can be worn extremely easily by both ladies and men alike, and with its variety of strap options in red, beige, and white, its a watch that can be suited for an array of occasions.

The reference’s highlight is of course its gem-setting, and with 40 multicoloured sapphires and 40 baguette-cut diamonds set within its bezel, 12 multicoloured sapphire hour markers surrounding the dial, and 10 baguette-cut diamonds set within its clasp, the craftsmanship is rather astonishing. Totalling 52 baguette-cut multicolored sapphires (with a weight of 2.62ct) and 50 baguette-cut diamonds (with a weight of 2.41ct) across the watch, the finished result is breathtaking. On top of its gem setting, the reference boasts a white mother-of-pearl dial, which completes the show.
