Rolex Day-Date
1803
£20,950
Now available, a very charming Rolex Day-Date 1803 in pink gold - a metal seldom seen in the reference.
Pink gold gives the 1803 an entirely different personality: warmer, softer, and far rarer than its yellow-gold counterparts. However, what really elevates this example is the dial: a beautifully aged tobacco-toned surface with that soft taupe cast that only ever develops over time. It’s subtle, characterful, and exactly the sort of mellow ageing collectors gravitate toward, and it pairs absolutely perfectly with the pink gold case surrounding it. The hands have also oxidised gently over time, picking up just enough warmth to sit harmoniously against the dial.
This is a true “wide-boy” dial - a short-lived configuration distinguished by its thicker, more architectural hour markers, giving the watch a slightly stronger and more graphic presence than the standard 1803 layout. Add in a Portuguese day disk - itself a notably uncommon detail - and you’re looking at a configuration that quietly ticks several collector boxes without ever feeling contrived.
In exceptional condition throughout, the dial condition is extremely strong, missing just a few of its lume plots, and the case remains wonderfully crisp with thick, even lugs and clean lines. The President bracelet deserves special mention too: full-length and with absolutely zero stretch, which is almost unheard of for an early 1803. A rare, well-preserved, and genuinely appealing take on the pink-gold Day-Date - the sort of example that doesn’t surface often. Coming as a watch-only, it is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
