Patek Philippe Nautilus
5712/1A-001
£115,000
Now available, a now-discontinued Patek Philippe Nautilus in stainless steel.
The 5712/1A was always a bit of an outlier, and that’s precisely what made it so compelling. Off-center, asymmetrical, and effortlessly elegant, its quirky dial layout set it apart from its sportier Nautilus siblings, offering a more poetic take on everyday complications. With its power reserve, moonphase, and date laid out in a charmingly unbalanced fashion, the 5712 quietly became a cult favorite among collectors looking for something a touch more idiosyncratic.
Produced in an array of metal variants over the years, and still in production today in its full rose gold form, the reference 5712/1A being discontinued earlier this year did come as a bit of a shock to most, and as such, savvy collectors are focussing on acquiring the very last iterations of the reference.
This example importantly features the updated folding clasp.
An often-overlooked but meaningful upgrade which came late in the production run of the 5712/1A, it features a discreet micro-adjustment system, along with a refined button-operated release mechanism that replaces the older friction-fit style. The result is a more secure, more comfortable wearing experience, especially for daily use, and the upgrade is one that quietly modernises the Nautilus without disturbing its iconic lines.
Unworn, and complete with its entirety of accessories from new, the watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
