Now available, the spectacular Patek Philippe Chronograph 5170P-001 in platinum.

Among modern chronographs, few pieces strike quite the same balance of classical design and mechanical purity as the now-discontinued 5170 - and in platinum, it becomes something truly special. Introduced in 2010 as the successor to the revered Patek Philippe Chronograph 5070, the 5170 marked an important moment for Patek Philippe, housing the brand’s first fully in-house manual wind chronograph calibre, the CH 29-535 PS. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful chronograph movements ever produced, its architecture, finishing and mechanical feel - particularly through the chronograph pushers - are simply exceptional.

The platinum 5170P arrived much later in the model’s lifecycle and enjoyed a notably short production run - roughly from 2017 until the reference was discontinued around 2021. As is often the case with Patek Philippe, platinum variants tend to be produced in far smaller numbers than their gold counterparts, making them some of the most elusive within a reference family.

Its rich sunburst blue dial, paired with striking baguette diamond hour markers, creates a wonderfully elegant yet slightly unexpected contrast - unmistakably Patek, yet with real presence on the wrist. The beautifully sculpted 39mm platinum case adds just the right amount of weight and presence, and like all platinum Patek Philippe watches, a small diamond is discreetly set into the case band at 6 o’clock - a subtle signature detail reserved exclusively for the brand’s platinum pieces.

This particular example is a late 2019 UK-supplied watch, presented in exceptional condition and complete with its entirety of accessories from new.
