Now available, a Patek Philippe Chronograph in rose gold, reference 5070R-001.

The reference 5070, introduced in 1998, was Patek Philippe’s long-awaited return to the traditional two-register chronograph after more than three decades. At 42mm, it was the largest case the brand had ever produced at the time - a bold departure that has since become a modern classic in its own right.

The rose gold 5070R, introduced in 2004, was produced with two dial variations - black, and the far more classical silvery opaline dial, as seen here. This latter version softens the presence of the case, offering a harmonious balance between warmth and refinement, while still retaining the watch’s technical boldness. At its heart lies the calibre CH 27-70, Patek Philippe’s extensively reworked Lemania-based hand-wound chronograph movement - a calibre celebrated for its beauty, reliability, and traditional architecture, and one of the last true hand-finished chronograph movements in regular production.

Discontinued in 2008 after a brief four-year run, the 5070R has become one of the most desirable modern chronographs in the Patek Philippe canon, with the silvery dial variant remaining especially coveted among collectors for its restrained elegance.

In exceptional and unpolished condition, and complete with its entirety of accessories from new, including accessories such as its original swing tag, the watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
