Patek Philippe Calatrava
5227J-001
£24,000
Now available, a Patek Philippe Calatrava in yellow gold.
Introduced into the Patek Philippe catalogue over a decade ago now, the reference 5227 is undeniably iconic, and remains to be what most people would envision if they were to see the name “Patek Philippe” written down. Elegant, subtle, and special are all words that could quite easily describe the reference, and this particular example in yellow gold expresses all of these qualities effortlessly.
Available in yellow gold (showcased here), rose gold, and white gold, it’s the yellow gold iteration which collectors are seemingly focussing on, mainly due to the scarcity of them as opposed to its other variants, as well as it being the metal used for the original Patek Philippe Calatrava, reference 96, from 1932.
When turning the watch over, we are greeted with a charming officer’s style case back, which can be opened to reveal the perfectly finished Calibre 324 SC within, and serves as a lovely throwback to the classic-wearing watches of the past.
Having been worn just a handful of times, the watch comes to us in exceptional condition throughout and remains unpolished. Fitted with a beautiful factory green alligator leather strap and complete with its entirety of accessories from new, the watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide.
