Unveiled in 2018, the 5968A was the very first Aquanaut to house a chronograph complication, pairing the sportiness of the line with Patek Philippe’s flyback chronograph calibre CH 28-520 C. Measuring 42.2mm across, its rounded-octagonal case offers the same bold yet wearable proportions that have defined the Aquanaut since 1997, while the integrated orange chronograph accents inject a sense of playfulness not often seen in Patek’s steel sports watches.
The composite strap system allows for a seamless transition between its black strap and the additional bright orange strap delivered from factory, making the watch as versatile in styling as it is in functionality. The single 60-minute chronograph register at 6 o’clock keeps the dial balanced and uncluttered, while the flyback mechanism ensures the complication remains both useful and intuitive.
