Now available, an exceptionally rare and possibly unique Patek Philippe Annual Calendar “AC Milan” reference 5035R-028 in rose gold.

Commissioned in 1999 by AC Milan and produced in a limited run of just 100 pieces for players, owners, and senior members of the club, this little-known reference is one of the more unusual and fascinating modern Patek Philippe limited editions. Based on the landmark reference 5035 - the world’s first annual calendar wristwatch - the 5035R-028 differs considerably from standard production examples, most notably through its distinctive dial layout, dagger-style hour markers, and commemorative caseback and rotor engraving. Cased in rose gold and fitted with a beautiful silver soleil dial, the watch carries a very different character to the regular 5035 family. The dial feels sharper, more architectural, and almost experimental in its execution - a detail that becomes especially important with this particular example.

What makes this example especially intriguing, however, is the dial. After extensive comparison with other known examples of the 5035R-028, this watch appears to differ in four significant ways: the absence of “SWISS” at six o’clock, the lack of luminous material across the dagger-style hour markers, the presence of all twelve months on the three o’clock subdial rather than alternating months, and the accented “Genève” signature beneath Patek Philippe.

Together, these details strongly suggest that this may be a prototype dial, or potentially a very early development execution for the limited run. Whatever the explanation, the watch has since returned to Patek Philippe for servicing and remained unchanged, further reinforcing the authenticity and originality of what is undoubtedly one of the most interesting 5035s we have ever encountered. Rare, important, and genuinely unusual - a remarkable piece of Patek Philippe and sporting history, and an annual calendar unlike any other.

Numbered 92 of 100 on its Certificate of Origin, this watch is accompanied by its original commemorative AC Milan box with inset plaque, as well as the original outer card for the leather wallet, also carrying its corresponding “92” sticker. The case remains in exceptional overall condition, with all hallmarks clearly present to the rear of the lugs, and the watch was serviced by Patek Philippe in Geneva in August 2025, remaining under manufacturer mechanical warranty until August 2027.
