A reference almost entirely unknown to most collectors - even amongst seasoned Cartier enthusiasts - the 2899 represents one of the most unconventional and fascinating interpretations of the Tank ever produced. Combining two of the maison’s most important design languages, the Tank and the Crash, the result is something entirely unique; simultaneously elegant, surreal, and unmistakably Cartier.

The elongated asymmetrical case takes the familiar architecture of the Tank and distorts it through the organic, melted form language of the Crash, creating a silhouette that feels more sculpture than wristwatch. From the front, the watch is already extraordinary, though turning the piece over truly reveals the complexity of the construction and the dramatic curvature of the case itself. Every angle feels deliberate and deeply artistic.

Cased in rose gold and lavishly set throughout with brilliant-cut diamonds, there is seemingly no visible surface left untouched. The gem-setting quality is exceptional, flowing seamlessly across the exaggerated brancards, clasp, and even the crown itself. Contrasting beautifully against the warmth of the rose gold is the crisp white Cartier dial with oversized Roman numerals and blued steel hands - all showcased here on a vibrant turquoise Cartier alligator strap that gives the watch an almost impossibly striking presence on the wrist.
