Now available, a Cartier Tank Basculante in yellow gold, reference 2499C.

Originally conceived in 1932, the Basculante is one of Cartier’s most fascinating designs - a reversible case that flips within its frame, both protecting the dial and allowing the watch to stand upright as a miniature desk clock. A playful yet practical complication, it embodies Cartier’s Art Deco ingenuity and stands as one of the maison’s most distinctive Tank variations.

The reference 2499C, introduced in the late 1990s as part of the Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP), revives this heritage with elegant proportions and unmistakable Cartier details. Its guilloché dial, blued hands, Roman numerals, and hidden Cartier signature at 7 o’clock are all signatures of the CPCP era, while the warm yellow gold case lends the watch a timeless sophistication. Measuring 25mm x 38mm, it wears with grace and subtle character, a true connoisseur’s Cartier.

In exceptional condition throughout, this yellow gold Basculante is a rare find from Cartier’s revered CPCP collection. Coming as a watch-only but benefitting from a recent manufacturer service, the watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
