Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon
26730TI
£215,000
Now available, an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon in titanium, a limited edition of just 50 pieces.
A striking combination of technical watchmaking and modern design, this reference features a full titanium case and bracelet paired with a smoked aquamarine-like blue Grande Tapisserie dial, and showcases its flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Subtly complete with two baguette-cut diamonds in place of its 12 o’clock hour marker, it’s a visually bold piece, but one that retains the comfort and wrist presence the Royal Oak is known for, thanks in part to its lightweight construction and very wearable 41mm case.
Introduced in 2022, this was the first time Audemars Piguet had fit a Royal Oak with a flying tourbillon in titanium with this dial configuration, making it one of the more quietly significant contemporary references in the lineup at the time. With its automatic Calibre 2950 movement visible through the caseback, it’s as impressive technically as it is aesthetically.
Unlike a traditional tourbillon (which is mounted with a bridge that connects it to the movement on both sides), this particular reference, as noted in the model’s name, features a “flying tourbillon”. Invented in 1920 by master watchmaker Alfred Helwig, the flying tourbillon is mounted from the bottom, appearing to the eye as being unconnected and like it is hovering within the movement, making for a spectacular display.
Having been worn just a handful of times, the watch is in exceptional condition throughout showcasing just minor signs of wear, and comes totally complete with its entirety of accessories from new. This example is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
