Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked
15407ST
£120,000
Now available, an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked, reference 15407ST.
Among modern Royal Oaks, few references showcase the brand’s technical and aesthetic capabilities quite like the 15407ST. At its heart sits the double balance wheel mechanism - a patented system designed to improve stability and precision - but just as importantly, it creates one of the most visually captivating displays in contemporary watchmaking.
The fully openworked dial reveals an intricate network of bridges, gears and finishing, offering a constant reminder of the mechanical complexity within. Balanced beautifully within the familiar Royal Oak architecture, it manages to feel both highly technical and unmistakably refined at the same time.
Now discontinued in this monochromatic configuration, the reference has since evolved into a more contemporary two-tone aesthetic with pink gold-toned movement components and matching inner bezel. As such, these earlier examples - with their cooler, more industrial tone - are becoming increasingly desirable amongst collectors.
This particular example is one of the very last produced, dating to 2023, and remains unworn from new. It is accompanied by its entirety of accessories from new, presenting exactly as one would hope from such a late-production piece. A perfect fusion of Gérald Genta’s timeless design and Audemars Piguet’s modern technical prowess - and without doubt one of the most captivating Royal Oaks of recent years. The watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
