Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
56175TT
£15,950
Now available, a wonderfully distinctive Audemars Piguet Royal Oak reference 56175TT - a limited production Royal Oak combining steel and tantalum, produced in just 2,000 pieces.
Introduced in the early 1990s, the reference 56175TT is celebrated for its unusual two-metal construction, with the darker tantalum centre case and bracelet giving the watch a rich slate-grey tone and satisfying weight on the wrist, beautifully contrasted by the stainless steel bezel and centre links. Measuring 33mm, it wears far larger than the dimensions suggest thanks to the classic Royal Oak proportions. The engraved “Championship” caseback nods to the model’s origins, released to celebrate Sir Nick Faldo’s historic back-to-back Masters victories at Augusta in 1989 and 1990.
Powering the watch is the ultra-thin calibre 2612 quartz movement, allowing this reference to remain one of the thinnest Royal Oaks ever produced, and giving it an elegant, low-profile presence on the wrist. Another detail often overlooked is that the bracelet was produced by the legendary Gay Frères, whose hallmark can be found within the clasp - a subtle reminder of the exceptional craftsmanship behind these early Royal Oak bracelets.
This example features the later Mk2 dial with the updated Audemars Piguet signature, while importantly retaining its original dial and handset - many examples having seen replacements during service. Over time, the petite tapisserie dial has developed a beautiful tropical tone across its raised sections, adding tremendous character.
Albeit enjoyed over the years, the overall condition remains exceptional, with a razor-sharp case, tight bracelet, and no stretch whatsoever. Coming with its original box, the watch is available for viewing in London and purchase worldwide. Please get in touch for further information.
