Produced during one of the most creative periods in Audemars Piguet's history, references such as this perfectly demonstrate the manufacture's remarkable ability to blur the lines between fine watchmaking and jewellery design. Whilst the Royal Oak understandably dominates much of today's conversation, it is these extraordinary dress references that continue to surprise us most. Elegant, understated and exceptionally uncommon, they remain amongst the most overlooked creations ever to leave Le Brassus.

The contrast of materials is simply beautiful. A flawless black onyx dial provides the perfect backdrop for the delicate pavé diamond surround, whilst the subtle light blue Audemars Piguet signature and "Swiss Made" printing introduce just the right amount of colour. Encircling the watch is an exquisitely crafted textured white gold bracelet, its woven construction demonstrating the extraordinary level of craftsmanship synonymous with the manufacture during this period. Sized generously and easily adjusted via screwed links, it wears wonderfully on both male and female wrists.

Dating to circa 1994, this particular example is especially remarkable for its state of preservation. Presented in true new old stock condition, the watch appears never to have seen the light of day. It remains unworn, unsized and even retains its original caseback sticker, details almost never encountered on references of this era.
